The Lancashire and South Cumbria New Hospitals Programme aims to address health inequalities and help local people live longer and healthier lives. The Programme will work for communities across our local area and will result in brand new, world-class facilities for local people. We want to help improve the health of local people by offering patients and staff access to advanced, purpose-built hospital facilities, delivering cutting-edge care, and meeting the changing needs and rising demand the NHS is facing.
This is a collaborative programme, involving all NHS organisations in Lancashire and South Cumbria. As such, our plans will be clinically-led and will need to reflect the needs and desires of NHS patients, workforce, communities and those that work with and alongside the NHS, today and in the future. Therefore, a core part of our process will be to listen and take views, ideas, needs and concerns on board. It is vital that clinicians, patients, GPs, stakeholders and local people are involved in identifying the current issues and helping to us to design the answers.
